Use the large altitude difference between Emberger Alm and the valley (1200 meters) and the usually advantageous weather situation of Drautal for your sophisticated flight. More outstanding features are, amongst others, the region’s early usable thermal and high cloud base, furthermore the valley’s east-western direction and the great infrastructure of Greifenburg, Berg and on Emberger Alm.
The flying season lasts from March until November. On „striking days“, new long-distance-flight records are beaten frequently, like for instance in May 2008: Walter Geppert passed the 400-kilometers-mark in a hang-glider!
At the launching area, the refreshment stall „Thermik-Treff“ provides you with beverages, snacks and cakes. Telephones as well as restrooms are available. The same applies to the landing sites.
